0800 Hrs: Depart for Sightseeing of Delhi

 

0900 Hrs: Guided Sight Seeing of Qutab Minar

The Qutab Minar site is located to the south of Delhi. The main focal point is a very large tower. This was the location of the first mosque in India. The tower and surrounding buildings were partly built using materials taken from several Hindu temples that were knocked down. This helps explain some of the architecture. Another tower was planned and a large stump exists but it was never completed.

The Lotus Temple, located in New Delhi, India, is a Bahá'í House of Worship completed in 1986. Notable for its flowerlike shape, it serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent and has become a prominent attraction in the city. 1200 Hrs: Guided Sight Seeing of Humayun Tomb

Humayun died in 1556, and his widow Hamida Banu Begam, also known as Haji Begam, commenced the construction of his tomb in 1569, fourteen years after his death. It is the first distinct example of the proper Mughal style, which was inspired by Persian architecture
